It’s a snow day…still business as usual for VA’s!
Well, much of England is covered in snow and for many businesses this means a complete slowdown and sometimes a stop as far as productivity is concerned.
Why?
Because they are not geared up to cope without staff in their offices. When their staff aren’t able to make it in because of traffic chaos or rail disruptions their business could grind to a halt. It’s that serious, but it needn’t be a problem, and it needn’t be expensive to resolve. In fact, quite the opposite!
Without the commute, Virtual Assistants are still on hand whatever the traffic chaos or rail disruptions. For us, it’s business as usual.
Modern technology allows us the luxury of being able to work anywhere. In most businesses there is little need for staff to be in one place at the same time. Meetings can be conducted over the telephone or internet, telephone calls can be outsourced, documents can be uploaded onto a sharepoint site or direct to a server via VPN, it’s all there. The use of VOIP even allows businesses to let their telemarketing or customer helpline staff work from home. Just think of how your business heating & lighting bills would reduce for a start.
In fact there are more and more reasons to let staff work from home, and/or use virtual assistants. It’s not just for cost or environment implications, but morale and work life balance play an important role too. Using hot desks for those that prefer to commute means less office space is needed too.
Come hail or high water, we’re still on the case!
